Since 1973, when abortion was legalized, it is estimated that 60 million babies have been aborted––more than 4000 per day––and there are over 2000 late-term abortions each year. Lawmakers under the current administration are once again ‘ganging up’ to murder more of the innocents. While people carry out the warfare for and against the atrocity of abortion, it is Satan himself that seeks to keep America under the curse pronounced by God on those who kill the innocent.

So you shall not pollute the land where you are; for blood defiles the land, and no atonement can be made for the land, for the blood that is shed on it… (Numbers 35:33 – NKJV)

So you shall put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you when you do what is right in the sight of the LORD. (Deut. 21:9 – NKJV)

A curse is on America for the spilled blood of the innocent pre-born babies whose lives were an ‘inconvenient truth’ that could be erased lawfully through abortion. They were sacrificed on the altar of the gods of personal convenience, wealth, and self-appeasement. Not only did the U.S. legalize the murder of the unborn in America, but our tax dollars paid for abortions to be performed in other (poor) countries as well. These are the ‘gods’ that make our land polluted, an abomination to the Lord.

They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons and to the gods of Canaan. Then they poured out the blood of these innocent children and made the land filthy. (Contemporary English Version Psalm 106:37, 38)

Even though eighty-nine percent of abortions occur in the first 12 to 15 weeks of pregnancy (2004), it is important to know what that means to the baby who has no say or choice in the matter. When lobsters are boiled alive and are knocking against the sides of the pot, we can identify that the lobster is in pain. In the same way, it is important to consider that all abortions are performed without anesthetizing the baby. Yet, people are able to turn a blind eye to the truth about the baby’s pain during an abortion because they cannot hear the silent screams or see the tears of babies being torn apart, burned with saline solutions or who are partially born allowing the abortionist to poke a hole in the back of the head to suck out its brains.

People considering abortion never consciously seek to know what the baby growing in their womb is like. Even before the baby is viable (able to live outside the womb) at 24 weeks, it has developed characteristics that prove it is a thinking, feeling human being. ·       At 9 weeks, the baby is wriggling, shifting, and dancing. The baby is practicing bending and flexing joints.

·       At 10 weeks, the most critical part of the infant’s development is complete.

·       By 11 weeks, nearly all structures and organs are formed and begin to function.

·       At 14 weeks, many babies have learned to suck their thumb.

·       At 18 weeks, vocal chords are formed and the baby goes through the motions of crying, but doesn’t make a sound.

·       At 20 weeks, the baby can hear noises outside of the womb and becomes familiar with voices, music, and other sounds.

·       At 22 weeks, the baby can hear your conversations.

·       At 26 weeks, the baby shows response to touch.

·       At 30 weeks, the baby has the capability now to produce tears within the womb.

·       At 31 weeks, some babies move to the rhythm of music.

·       At 34 weeks the baby acts completely like a newborn.

Imagine a 14-week old fetus happily sucking its thumb, or playing with its hands and feet when suddenly, it is being pursued by a knife. Ultrasounds of such abortions show the baby trying desperately to get away to avoid its inevitable fate.

What would make a woman agree to destroy the fruit of her womb or a father his own offspring? The April 2009 AFA Journal published an article that would help explain this ongoing atrocity. For a variety of individual, mostly selfish reasons, couples are choosing not to have children or are starting parenthood at a much later age, thereby limiting the number of children they can have. Another problem that is unique to the day in which we live is that many women feel forced to choose between a career and children either for financial reasons or for personal prestige. The AFA Journal notes that “more and more couples are “choosing to organize their lives around their careers, rather than around marriage followed by children,” thus devaluing the lives of children to become just another lifestyle choice. Their lives is the important issue here.

In addition, young people are barraged by movies, books and television portraying the opinion that the happiest years for married couples are those before having children and those after they are grown and out of the house; childrearing has become a chore rather than a joy. We are living in a “hyper-individualistic” culture, far from the ideal set down in Scripture for mankind.

Now that Roe vs. Wade has been reversed, and the fate of unborn babies is in the hands of each state legislature, it’s time to “Do what is right in the sight of the Lord.” It’s time to fight against the forces of evil that are trying to destroy our offspring and our land. It’s time for each person reading this article to contact their State Representatives, as well as other like-minded individuals to make sure that laws permitting abortion never pass state legislatures. It’s time to pray like never before for the pollution of innocent blood on our land to end!

I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live. (Deut. 30:19)
