The Breath of the Wolf is Upon Us

“Jesus allows His sheep to smell the breath of the wolf so that they will bleat out the name of their shepherd and depend upon Him.” ––Tom White, Director of Voice of the Martyrs

Can you smell the breath of the wolf? Many believers are boldly proclaiming that the world is now under the judgment of G-d. Charles Finney once said: “If we lose a true understanding of hell, of G-d’s judgment, then the church shall be hopelessly feeble in its witness to the world.” A dear evangelist from Australia has consistently warned in his monthly epistles to us that we are living in the very last days spoken of by the Prophet Daniel.

“The days in which we are living are the very last days. Soon the powers of darkness will possess the earth. The glory of G-d will shine the brightest during these days. Many will come out of the darkness and receive the L-rd Jesus as their L-rd and Savior…The L-rd is preparing His people to be strong…and will guide them through this difficult time. During this time, the saints will do mighty works for the L-rd” ––Leo Roosipuu

Brother Leo lives in a beachfront community in Australia where they have a ‘floating’ population so that his witnessing tracts are always ‘fresh’. He has numerous opportunities to speak to the many young backpackers from around the world as they wait for their next coaches to take them along their way. He says that most are receptive to the Light of G-d’s Word. He witnesses locally three mornings a week to those to whom the L-rd guides him and he then brings them before the L-rd afterwards in prayer. Brother Leo says they always receive the Gospel and the tracts that he gives them.

As a result of his regular, determined witness, the L-rd has opened many new doors to Brother Leo, both financial and spiritual doors. His ministry is bearing more and more fruit daily in opening the ‘doors’ to many hearts. He says his greatest joy is that he will be able to see all those to whom he has witnessed rejoicing in the L-rd forever and ever [in eternity].

How many of us can testify that praying for others and knowing that G-d answers those prayers is our greatest joy in life? How many of us regularly schedule times of witnessing in our weekly activities? How many of us are actually looking forward to the days ahead when we can “smell the breath of the wolf” breathing down upon us in fury, knowing that G-d’s glory will shine in us so we can perform great feats for the L-rd in bringing multitudes out of darkness?

The L-rd has not promised that we will escape tribulation. In fact He has assured us that we WILL have tribulation. Believers in North Korea, where torture and death face anyone who professes Jesus as L-rd, continue to witness in fear and trembling as they “smell the breath of the wolf and bleat out the name of their Shepherd”, depending upon Him.

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.” (Matthew 24:9)

Like Christians in other nations of the world, we in America will soon be facing the worst days of our lives as well as the best days of our lives for those who continue in the service of the L-rd. The great outpouring of G-d’s Spirit that the Church is so ardently seeking will occur in conjunction with the fury of Satan because he knows his time is short. We cannot draw back.

“Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of G-d, you may receive the promise: … Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” (Hebrews 10:35-38)

The late Jewish believer, Aaron (Arty) Katz said, “It is not a polite thing to speak about G-d’s soon-coming judgment.” “[But] we cannot leave [the] fire [of judgment] out of our message, for to compromise G-d’s whole truth is to counterfeit love. It is not love that avoids warning a perishing world about all that G-d has clearly affirmed in His word.”

"Count on it: The day is coming, raging like a forest fire. All the arrogant people who do evil things will be burned up like stove wood, burned to a crisp, nothing left but scorched earth and ash— a black day. But for you, sunrise! The sun of righteousness will dawn on those who honor my name, healing radiating from its wings. You will be bursting with energy, like colts frisky and frolicking. And you'll tromp on the wicked. They'll be nothing but ashes under your feet on that Day." G-d-of-the-Angel-Armies says so. (Malachi 4:1-3 – The Message – Emphasis Author’s)

For those who are waiting patiently for the outpouring of G-d’s Spirit on the Church, it is important to consider Romans 1:16:

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of G-d to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” The most dramatic occurrences in the Church’s history occurred after a dramatic move of G-d occurred in the lives of the Jewish people and the nation of Israel. Therefore, if history sets a precedence and the Bible points to Israel, “to the Jew first”, to see a great move of G-d in the Church, a great move of G-d must first happen to the Jewish people and Israel. The Church needs to be interceding for Israel as well as the multitudes of lost and perishing souls while waiting on the L-rd.
