Articles were placed inside the Ark (Hebrews 9:4) to remind the Israelites of G-d's attributes: a golden pot of manna (Exodus 16:32); the rod of Aaron that budded (Numbers 17:8); and, the two tablets of stone (Exodus 25:16). Its contents affirmed Yeshua's role as Prophet, Priest, and King.

Yeshua, the Prophet, is the Golden Pot of Manna, the Bread from Heaven (John 6:32, 33) who fed His people heavenly wisdom, revealing the true meaning of the Law (Matthew 5, 6, & 7). Yeshua, the High Priest is The Rod Of Aaron That Budded (the Author of a new priesthood - Hebrews 7:11-16) who shed His own blood in atonement for all mankind. Yeshua, the King, is The Tablets of Stone, the Word of G-d (John 1:1) who will rule and reign in the earth: first in the hearts of Believers, then in the world over all mankind.

The aim of the Ark's Spiritual Counterpart, Yeshua, is to manifest G-d's glory in all the earth just as was foreshadowed when G-d manifested Himself to the Israelites through the original Ark of the Old Covenant. Yeshua is the conduit of G-d's power in the world through the New Covenant, the Covenant of the Holy Spirit residing in Believers. He instructs and guides those individuals that obey His Word so that G-d's attributes can be seen in them as He purposed.

G-d hid the original Ark because its Equivalent, the Messiah, would be the visible manifestation of the Glory of G-d in the Second Temple and the visible manifestation of the Glory of G-d in His earthly temples, the Body of Messiah, also known as the Church.

Jeremiah 27:21, 22 indicates that the Temple vessels would remain in captivity with the people until G-d restored them to the land of Israel. Today, as the Jewish people return to Israel after their long, 2000-year exile, the restoration of the Temple artifacts should be expected. The Scriptures teach that first comes the natural, then the spiritual (1 Corinthians 15:46). In this light, it would not be unreasonable to expect the original Ark to be found and returned to the Third Temple that both Daniel and John prophesied would exist during the end-times. The return of the Temple vessels and the original Ark will be the harbinger of the return of the Spiritual Ark, the Root and Offspring of David (Revelation 22:16), to fulfill the prophetic destiny of the Jewish people and the Gentiles who are called by His name.
