The Effort to Delegitimize Israel

“They have also surrounded me with words of hatred, and fought against me without a cause.” (Psalm 109:3)

Since the re-establishment of the nation of Israel in 1948, Jews have returned and continue to return to the homeland of their ancestors from all around the world. The effort to prevent their return has been monumental as has been the unsuccessful attempt to eliminate the fledgling state through wars and terror.

“This was the Lord’s doing; It is marvelous in our eyes.” (Psalm 118:23)

While we see this from a purely natural perspective, it is only a mere reflection of what is going on in the spirit realm where Satan seeks to prevent the next step in God’s plan to restore Israel to its former glory –– building the Third Temple on the Temple Mount before He comes to destroy all His enemies. The devil knows that this will lead to his defeat. To accomplish this goal, he is stirring up not only the surrounding nations, but even the nations of the world.

All people who are opposed to the existence of Israel within any boundaries whatsoever have an irrational hatred of Israel on both theological and political grounds. This fact is glaringly apparent on many American college campuses where the rise in the number and severity of anti-Semitic incidents is directly related to anti-Israel activities coordinated by pro-Palestinian organizations that support the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions effort, or BDS, which seeks to delegitimize the Jewish state.

The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions crusade against Israel is a global campaign by the so-called ‘Palestinians’ attempting to increase economic and political pressure on Israel to comply with their stated goals: “…the end of Israel's occupation and colonization of Palestinian land and the Golan Heights, full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and respect for the right of return of Palestinian refugees.” The campaign, organized and coordinated by the Palestinian BDS National Committee, was started in July of 2005 by over 170 Palestinian non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in support of the Palestinian cause.

Their efforts include fabricating a ‘new’ history of the region to ‘re-educate’ people to believe that there never was a Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount, that the so-called Palestinians have always been there from time immemorial, and that the UN resolution 181 of November 29, 1947, effectively establishing the Nation of Israel is not valid.

After WWI, land that belonged to the defeated Ottoman Empire was divided into newly formed countries of Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Iran, and Saudi Arabia. The rest of the Ottoman land, which was to be awarded to the Jews of Europe by the Balfour Declaration, was put into a Palestinian Mandate held by Britain. In 1922, when King Abdullah was forced out of Saudi Arabia, Britain portioned off 78% of that Palestinian Mandate and formed the country of Trans-Jordan for King Abdullah, today called Jordan. This left only 22% of the land originally promised to the Jews of Europe.

In the 1860’s, the writings of both the Swiss clergyman, Felix Bovet and that of Mark Twain testified that the land called Palestine was desolate and uninhabited.

"The Christians who conquered the Holy Land did not know how to preserve it… The Arabs who took it from them lost it to the Ottomans, who still rule it, officially. They turned it into a wilderness where they do not dare step without fear. The Arabs themselves, who are its inhabitants, cannot be considered but temporary residents. They pitched their tents in its grazing fields or built their places of refuge in its ruined cities. They created nothing in it. Since they were strangers to the land, they never became its masters. The desert wind that brought them hither could one day carry them away without their leaving behind them any sign of their passage through it. God delivered Palestine into the hands of many peoples. But He did not allow any of them to set down roots in it. No doubt, [He] is saving it for His people Israel." –– Felix Bovet

And, Mark Twain simply stated….

“A desolation is here that not even imagination can grace with the pomp of life…We never saw a human being on the whole route…[as we] pressed on toward…Jerusalem…It is a hopeless, dreary, heartbroken land… Palestine sits in sackcloth and ashes. Over it broods the spell of a curse that has withered its fields… Can the curse of the Deity beautify a land?”

The pseudo history created by the ‘Palestinians’ does not mention that the land settled by the Jewish people prior to WWI was purchased from the Ottoman Empire’s landowners, and after WWI, all the land that the Jews cleared and developed was purchased from the supposed Syrian or Arab ‘owners’. With the return of Jews in the mid 1800s the agriculture and economy in former Israel began to grow. With it came an influx of Arabs from all the surrounding nations seeking jobs. The Jews welcomed them into their growing society, in the midst of their (purchased) lands.

Arabs came and built houses and worked in the vicinity of the Jewish settlements. This is confirmed by the fact that there were some 50 different languages spoken among the Arab population in pre-1948 Palestine. Only in very recent history, since 1967, have the Arabs in Israel begun to call themselves Palestinians. Most of the so-called Palestinians arrived from many other countries within the last 100 years, whereas, Israel has maintained a continual presence in The Land for more than 3000 years. Incredulously, the UN defined a Palestinian refugee as anyone who lived in Palestine for only two years before Israel’s statehood in 1948, obviously classifying many as refugees who were actually recent immigrants.

This fabricated history of the Land of Israel could only ‘catch on’ in a population of individuals who are ignorant of actual Mideast history, i.e. young college students looking for a ‘cause’ as well as virulent anti-Semites who choose to suppress the truth. The BDS leaders are mis-educating all who will listen and are particularly targeting the students, the future leaders that could influence others against Israel. This BDS influence can now be seen in the United Nations, which has a large Muslim presence. Newsmax reported on July 24, 2016 the following.

“The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) passed a resolution that declares Judaism has no claim to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall. This is an attempt by Arab Nations to change history and delegitimize Israel’s holy sites.”

Individual nations are also quietly taking part in this devilish conspiracy. For instance, Germany has been donating millions of euros to BDS groups, despite Berlin’s denials. The NGO-Monitor reports the following.

“…between 2012 and 2015, Germany funneled at least 4 million euros ($4.4 million) to some 15 Israeli organizations, and 42% of donations went to groups supporting an international boycott against Israel and policies negating Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.”

By delegitimizing Israel, Satan hopes to provoke worldwide opposition to the building of a Third Temple on the Temple Mount in Israel, which will mark the time of the coming of the Messiah. BDS is a desperate tactic of the enemy to prevent the inevitable – God’s plan to restore Israel and establish His Kingdom.

“Blessed are you, Israel! Who is like you, people saved by YHWH, the shield of your help, and your majestic sword! And our enemies shall be found liars to you, and you shall tread on their high places.” (Deuteronomy 33:29)
