All Scripture must be interpreted in the light of grammar and the history in which it was written. When Scripture is divorced from the Jewish matrix [womb] from which it was produced, it is, for the most part, incomprehensible. Ninety percent of the Bible was written or thought in Hebrew. The gradual Hellenization (Greek influence) or Latinization (Roman influence) of the church produced faulty hermeneutics [principles of interpretation] and faulty exegesis [interpretation of words or passages] crowding out the churches identity with Judaism and producing an anti-Semitic attitude. This attitude was epitomized in Constantine the Great when he said: "Let us now, therefore, have nothing more to do with these Jews, the murderers and parricides of our L-rd." While it began with Roman Emperor Constantine, the churches Judaic heritage was largely obliterated in the Middle Ages.
Torn from her Jewish roots and the authority of the Scriptures, as church doctrine began to take precedence over the Word of G-d, the church began to sweep pagans along with their customs into her organization. She illicitly substituted humanly devised forms and rituals for the supernatural reality of the "new birth"! Other non-scriptural doctrines began to emerge such as Replacement Theology. Replacement Theology teaches that the church has replaced the Jewish people in the purposes of G-d. It boldly declares that the church is now the "new Israel". It teaches that G-d has rejected and is punishing the Jewish people because of their rejection of Christ and their responsibility for His death.
This "doctrine of demons" has robbed Christianity of its biblical legacy in Judaism and has greatly helped to produce the church's hatred and persecution of the Jewish people throughout the ages. Pride, arrogance and persecution of the Jews brought the church under G-d's judgment. The church descended into spiritual darkness and the demonstrative power of the Holy Spirit was lost. This "power" was one of the crucial ingredients necessary to provoke Israel to jealousy (l Cor. 1:22) "...and Jews require a sign." The Scriptures were taken out of the hands of "laymen" only to be read and interpreted by the hierarchy of the church. The priesthood of the believer ceased to be a reality and in its place was a great chasm between the leadership of the organized church and the "lay people".
Even though light and truth began to be restored to the church from the 1500's to the present day, many in the church still hold fast to Replacement Theology. They believe, for the most part, that Jews who come to believe in Jesus as their Savior should be assimilated into the church or "Spiritual Israel". This causes a loss of their Jewish identity. This attitude, in fact, is a form of anti-Semitism that keeps Jews from coming to know their Messiah. Satan fights hard to keep this sort of anti-Semitism alive in the church as he knows the power that G-d will release as Jew and Gentile come together into "one new man" in Messiah Yeshua.
Returning to our 'Jewish roots' is not coming under the law of Moses. We do not need to wear prayer shawls or head coverings. We do not have to keep special dietary laws to please G-d. 'Jewish roots' means restoration of the authentic biblical "faith once delivered to the saints". The "faith of Abraham" [Romans 4:16] perfected and made available to all by the birth, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus. Returning to our Jewish roots will help to enlighten the church as to G-d's unique purposes for Israel and His Jewish people in these end-times. It will also help the church know what her part will be and the importance of knowing what G-d's heart is toward His word being fulfilled.
There is a worldwide sovereign move of G-d at this time to restore the church to proper New Testament understanding of her grafted-in position. As a result, the church will come forth in love and power. And, it will not be long before Israel's cry will be "blessed is He who comes in the name of the L-rd", the prelude to the return of Jesus to the earth.
